WALTER G. SEAGER (1886-1951)
Walter
was
born in Poplar on January 21st 1886; was at K.C. from 1899 – 1902
(followed by J. and T. Harker, later to become his brothers-in-law); and died in
March 1951.
While at school he played a prominent part in different sides of school life: games, debating and in a variety of other school societies. After leaving, he played in the Old Boys’ Football XI and was a Founder Member of the Pierrot Concert party that returned to school to entertain. He was a regular attender at committee meetings and reunions of the O.C.’s and, in 1950, took the Chair at short notice after the sudden death of Geoffrey Brownscombe. He took particular pride in having captained the O.C.’s 2nd XI as late as 1937.
During the 30’s he became one of the first Old Boys to be made a school Governor, a tribute and acknowledgement of the school’s indebtedness to his staunch and loyal support at that difficult period.
