ROSANNE POLLOT

Rosanne moved to Canterbury in 1990.  She started work at Vernon Holme as a Year 4 teacher and a boarding mistress.  In 1997 Rosanne moved to the Senior School to teach English, a subject she had always loved, and had read as a student at Reading University.  She became Head of Year 7 and played a major role in settling new pupils into the school, making sure that they were at ease with their new environment.

Rosanne’s contribution to the school can best be judged by those who knew her.  Her vibrant personality and infectious sense of humour brought out the best in colleagues and pupils alike.  Rosanne was an enthusiastic supporter of music, drama and sport within the school.  Not only did she encourage pupil involvement, but actively participated herself whenever possible.

It was indicative of Rosanne’s courage and commitment to the school community that she continued to teach until the final weeks of her life and chose to have her funeral at the Chapel at Kent College.  Rosanne died in 2001.
