FRANK MINTER (1916 – 1999)

Frank Minter attended KC from 1929 to 1934.  He was one of the school hockey team of 1934 and played for the Old Canterburians at the Folkestone Hockey Festivals for several years up to the late 1940s.  His interest in hockey continued: he became a grade “A” referee in the Cambridge area and then, in later years, in and around Canterbury.

During War II Frank was a flight engineer in the R.A.F. serving on bombing raids over Germany.  He then became a farm manager for a large firm of grain and seed merchants in Essex, a useful contact for the school when the hockey pitch needed re-laying!

Frank maintained a keen interest in Club activities and his circle of friends spanned a wide age group, not just confined to his immediate contemporaries.  He was appointed Club President from 1970 to 1972.
